Popular science of electromagnetic flowmeter
Electromagnetic flowmeter is an instrument that uses Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction to measure the flow of conductive fluid based on the electromotive force induced when the conductive fluid passes through an external magnetic field. It is widely used in chemical industry, environmental protection, metallurgy, medicine, paper making, water supply and drainage and other industries.
The advantages are that the pressure loss is extremely small and the measurable flow range is large. The ratio of the maximum flow rate to the minimum flow rate is generally above 20:1. The applicable pipe diameter range is wide, nominal diameter is DN15~DN3000mm. The output signal and the measured flow rate are linear, with high accuracy, and can measure conductivity ≥5μs/cm of the fluid flow of acid, alkali, salt solution, water, sewage, corrosive liquid and mud, mineral pulp, paper pulp, etc. But it cannot measure the flow of gas, steam and pure water. It can measure the positive and negative two-way flow, and can also measure the pulsating flow, as long as the pulsation frequency is much lower than the excitation frequency.
Its structure is mainly composed of magnetic circuit system, measuring catheter, electrode, shell, lining and converter. It can display on site, meanwhile, also output 4 ~ 20 mA current signal for recording, regulation and control. It is available to choose the intelligent electromagnetic flowmeter with liquid crystal display. As far as the display modes, it can be divided into two categories of split or integrated electromagnetic flowmeter. The lining material is selected according to the corrosive properties, abrasion properties and temperature of the tested medium, and the pipe type, insert type electromagnetic flowmeter can be chosen by installation modes.
