Hook assembly

As a mechanical lifting tool, the hook assembly is normally suspended on the wire rope of the lifting mechanism by means of pulley blocks and other components. The tool with single hooks is always used for lifting the objects less than 80 t while that with double hooks used for the cases that need to lift the heavier objects with symmetrical force. Most of laminated hooks are used on the crane with large lifting capacity or lift buckets of molten steel.

The hook assembly is one of the most common lifting equipment, according to the shape divided into two types i.e. the one with single hook and the one with two hooks; or forged hook and laminated hook type according to the manufacturing technique. The tool with single hooks is always used for lifting the objects less than 80 t while that with double hooks used for the cases that need to lift the heavier objects with symmetrical force. The laminated hook features better safety performance, but its dead weight is higher, thus it is always installed on the crane with large lifting capacity, or the ladle crane.
