The optic edge detector can be used to facilitate strip centering control by other different types of position detector and position controller. It only recognizes high-frequency alternating light, other than the ambient light, that is to say, it is environmental interference free. It has the advantages of robustness and durability, high sensitivity, wide applicability, strong resistance to ambient light interference, and easy operation, etc. It is widely used for online centering and automatic edge alignment of different types of strips in the production lines of metallurgical, electroplating and other sectors.
